MelmothX's musical notes
I listen mostly only to electronic music, since a couple of years ago. I think it's because of my misanthropic attitude, I can't stand people singing any more, unless heavily distorted/effected/etc.
My current greatest hits ever
Carbon Based Lifeforms, 23, a wonderful trip into the deep space.
Aes Dana, Leylines, and my favourite electronic single track ever: http://ultimae.bandcamp.com/track/lysistrata
Fahrenheit Project 1-7: a wonderful collection of great artists, probably the best of the ambient/psychill music.
Recent discovery, they pass the MP3 player test:
Sol Tek, Steps into Space It's a kaleidoscopic, psychedelic, experimental, absolutely not boring space music album. Great tracks and a fine album overall. Favorite tracks: Superposition of stars, Resonantia, Girasol, Fractale.
Escape Into, The Dream, Nightmare before Christmas inspired psyambient/trance.
The Dune Mix, from the Digitally Imported radio. Really a nice mix, with a Dune theme.
Biosphere, Shenzhou, a kind of classic of the electronic music.
The psy-amb mixes: you can't go wrong if you listen to a random mix It's kinda listening to the radio.
Easily Embarassed, Tales of the Coin Spinner Cool downtempo with some lyrics (but not too much). Favorite track: Moon People.
Tron Sepia - Weird Fishes and Other Stories A psychedelic dubstep. Good to wake up.
Earth Mantra stuff
Earth Mantra is a great netlabel offering music under a Creative commons license. The quality of the releases is very good. I don't like too much the dark ambient, so I have to cherry pick the releases. These are my choices, so far (the archive has about 200 release, so it will take a while to fully explore it).
Dreamhub, Moments in Space Simply great space music, with some beats to keep you awake (but not too much). A fine album indeed. Best track: Galaxias.
Palancar, Elysium Planitia Here it's the Earth Mantra's host himself which offers a nice space music album. With a Mars theme! How could I resist?
Janne Hanhisuanto, Icescapes Keep yourself warm during listening, because it's icy.
